Fontainebleau Hotel on Collins Avenue, Miami will host the New Art Dealers Alliance’s fair during Art Basel Miami Beach in December for it 2015 edition. Being opened in 2003, NADA moved in 2009 to the Deauville Beach Resort, in North Miami Beach, where it stayed through the last year.
Managing to grow and make its name heard, this year, NADA will move to a bigger place in the labyrinthine Fontainebleau. New Art Dealers Alliance’s cofounder, Heather Hubbs declared that the perks are more about location than space. According to her words, they’re not looking to expand “the same exact size or a little smaller, but it won’t be bigger” Being less than 3 miles away from Fontainebleau, the convention center is seen as having a far more than good placement. Referring to the main fair in Miami Beach, Hubbs said that “Being a little closer to Art Basel isn’t a bad thing,”
The hotel is also situated next to the Miami outpost of the private club Soho House, an inevitable draw for many collectors, dealers, drunken revelers, etc. Given how the city is laid out, there aren’t a lot of options for a satellite fair the size of NADA wanting to be close to the convention center.
